Update on CHAT Study 2

Year 2 data collection of Communicating Healthy Beginnings Advice by Telephone (CHAT) Study 2 is close to completion. 795 telephone surveys have been completed by participants. Approximately 660 home visits have been conducted to measure mother and child's weight and height. CHAT's research assistants have travelled all over NSW to collect these measurement data. Lots of mileage have been done to make these home visits happened. Well done to our research assistants! Stage 10 and 11 Telephone and SMS interventions are currently underway. The second booklet for participants with 2-3 years old children have been developed by Dr Sarah Taki and our child & family health nurses. The booklet looks awesome! All CHAT booklets can be downloaded from http://www.healthybeginnings.net.au/resources-1-1/

A student from Master of Public Health, The University of Sydney, Ms Emi Anderson, is currently conducting a Capstone project using CHAT study baseline data. Emi is supervised by A/Professor Li Ming Wen and Dr Limin Buchanan. This project has revealed that women from culturally and linguistically diverse background (CALD) and women with lower income, and unemployed were less likely to use apps for health-related information during pregnancy, as well as had less intention to use apps post-partum. This capstone project will be drafted into a research manuscript. Stay tuned!
