Early and mid-career researchers @ISBNPA2019

A group of EPOCH CRE representatives recently attended the 18th Annual Meeting of International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) in Prague, Czech Republic. The conference was attended by over 1100 delegates from around the world. The scientific program offered a wide range of keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations and workshops aligned with the theme Healthy People, Healthy Planet.

Keynote speakers included Professor Sir Andy Haines who spoke about achieving health in a changing climate, Dr Bruce Lee spoke about how systems approaches can transform nutrition and physical activity and Dr Barry Popkin spoke about the nutrition transition in low- and middle-income countries.

EPOCH CRE representatives presented on their work related to early prevention of obesity in children 0-5 years. There was a lot of interest in many of the current and upcoming projects. Congratulations to Brittany Johnson, Flinders University PhD candidate, for being awarded the ISBNPA Children and Families SIG Best Student Presentation award!
